Questions about digital products:
Do the presets work on all camera types?
Are we a good fit for each other?
Are you adventurous? Do the simple things in life mean the most to you? Do you not take yourself too seriously? Don’t mind getting a little dirt on your shoes? Then yeah, we're probably a great fit.
The clients who are best suited for me (and I for them) want real life moments captured as they happen. They want them taken in the simple places as well as the grand locations. They love the outdoors. They are drawn to the vibrancy of life and love. They value photography as an investment made in their present, for their future. They value my input when it's asked for. They trust me and my vision for them completely.
I’m personally drawn to all things boho-chic. Flower crowns and mountains. The ocean. The hipster family whose little boy has wild hair. Bold colours and casual outfits. That adorable tattooed couple at the coffee shop giggling about who-knows-what together. Man buns and beards. The triumph and the trials of motherhood. The soon to be parents, marvelling at what is to come. Laughter. Moody skies. Cuddles and comfort. Honesty – raw, unapologetic passion. Off the beaten path locations. Innocent and sweet young love. Sentimental details. Love that stands the test of time.
It’s totally okay if none of this sounds like you. There are so many amazing artists out there and I’m certain that the most important thing for you to do is find the photographer who suits you and your vision best. The one who makes you most comfortable. But if that's me, I can’t wait to work with you!
TVP Desktop Presets will work for any camera, and the Mobile Presets will work for iPhone or Android. Each camera type has a slightly different colour profile from one to the next, so your editing requirements will change depending on the device you shoot with.
Will the presets work on jpegs?
You can use any of the presets on jpegs, but the desktop presets are most effective on RAW files so you may need to spend more time tweaking the preset. The mobile presets are intended for compressed files so they will work best for jpeg files.
What programs do the presets work on?
These presets are strictly for usage in Lightroom, Lightroom mobile & Adobe Camera Raw. Each pack is designed for either Desktop OR mobile. Lightroom & ACR are available for purchase through Adobe. Lightroom Mobile is free.
Technically any preset can be used in Lightroom mobile, but if the preset pack does not specifically say "mobile", it hasn't been formatted for mobile use so you'd have to format it for mobile use yourself.
We are super uncomfortable in front of the camera. Do you help us with that?
How do I access & download my order?
Of course I will help you with this! In fact, one of the best ways I help you with this is by getting in front of the lens once a year with my family.
Let me get real honest with you here. Being a model is HARD. It’s uncomfortable and awkward and you’re constantly wondering, “do I look stupid right now?” But I promise you this: if you and your partner have chemistry, or you and your family are playful and know how to have fun together, then your session will be amazing. At the end of the day, it's all about chemistry! As a photographer, I can’t invent that! It's either there or it's not. Your family is either stiff or they are fun. You and your fiance are either comfortable in each other's arms or you’re not. I will remind you constantly that it's my job to document PDA – and I eat that shiz up. I absolutely love it. So keep this tucked away for when I tell you to kiss and stay in his embrace.
Parents – don’t freak out if your kids are freaking out. I personally love capturing the moments when your kidlette is crying. It’s REAL. (And usually the reason why they're crying is pretty funny!) The more relaxed you stay, the more settled your kids will be. I’m in no rush and I am a mom, so I get it. I really do get it. Do your best to let your guard down around me and I will do my best to make sure that it shows.
Once you have placed your order, you will automatically be sent an email containing a link to your product(s). You will need to unzip the download (on a desktop) before you can access the files. Follow the instructions included in your downloads to upload your files to your computer or mobile device.
Can I download products on my phone?
Some products are intended for mobile use and some are intended for desktop only. In your receipt email, there will be specific instructions to download mobile products and specific instructions to download desktop products. If you try to download a product on your phone without reading the instructions, you might get locked out. So make sure to follow the instructions exactly to prevent this. (Reach out with your order number if you have any issues!)
I've made a purchase but haven’t received a receipt with my order?
Tell me more about your editing.
I edit every single image that I hand back to you. I am heavily influenced by film and most of my images emulate a plethora of different film packs. I edit about 67% in colour and 33% in black and white (give or take). Everything you get back will be edited the same as what you see on my website. I do not photoshop or liquify bodies nor do I superimpose images. Basic touch-ups are made only when something is extremely obtrusive to the image. If you require further touch-up’s to your images, this can be done for an additional price on a picture by picture basis.
The presets are actually sent immediately upon purchase but often land in your spam folder. You also may have inputted your email incorrectly. If you have checked your spam folder and still can't locate them, send me an email and I'll resend them.
I’m getting a “you’ve reached your download limit” error, help!
How quickly should I book you?
To prevent piracy, I have set a limit to how many times your presets can be downloaded. This error can happen due to multiple failed attempts to download the product or not following the instructions properly. But not to worry! Reach out with your order number and I'll help you solve it.
I take an extremely limited number of bookings each year so if you would like to book, I recommend booking sooner than later. I am typically booked 6+ months in advance for lifestyle sessions.
If I lose my purchase, do I have to buy it again?
What is your payment & refund policy?
As per the contract, the retainer fee is non-refundable but transferable.
There are no refunds on any package unless otherwise stated in the contract.
No you don't - just send me an email with your order number and I'll resend your files over. (Back your files up to prevent this from happening.)
How long until I get my photos back?
Can I share my purchase with others?
Within 2-4 weeks of your session.
Sharing my digital products with other users is strictly prohibited. Not only is it incredibly disrespectful to the work I have done, it is also considered software piracy. Sharing is traceable - all verified instances of sharing will be reported to the authorities and legal action will be taken to the fullest extent of the law.
How many images do I get and can I purchase more digital files?
The number of images you get back will depend on the package you choose. See my "investment" tab for more information on that. The rest of your gallery will be available for purchase after delivery. You can purchase just a few or the entire set - it's all up to you! Sessions can yield anywhere between 50-250 images, depending on the session.
My download expired/I have a new computer. How can I access my files?
To prevent piracy, there is a time limit for downloads. So make sure you download your files right away. If you have previously downloaded your files, they are not lost - they are still on your computer unless you have specifically deleted them. If you have not downloaded them in time or are unable to locate your files, send me an email with your order number and I will regenerate your download permissions.
What time will our session be at?
Sessions are usually 2 hours before sunset or midday if it's cloudy. To optimize on the best light, we won't confirm a time until the day before unless it's an indoor set.
I’m having trouble installing my presets, help!
What is the difference between printing rights and copyrights?
Because of the variety of versions offered by Lightroom and the numerous operating systems, there is no "one" method of installing your presets. You can always check out Youtube for precise instructions on preset installation specific to your operating system and Lightroom version. Alternatively, check that "Store presets with this catalog" is checked in your Lightroom preferences. (From the top menu bar, navigate to Preferences -> Presets -> Visibility). If you're still having issues, fire off an email with your order number and I will help you sort it out.
All my sessions include full printing rights to your images which means that you print them as many times as you want, as large as you want and give them to whoever you want as long as you don't sell them. Photographers retain the copyrights to their images so they can use them for their portfolio, promotional purposes, social media, etc. (Without the use of these images, you wouldn't have been able to see what I'm capable of!)
I'm worried about shooting around bedtime...
Are refunds offered?
If you're a schedule junkie (like I was with my kids!) we can plan an indoor session to occur midday. Sometimes, depending on the weather, we can also aim for an earlier start time. Otherwise, sessions typically occur before sunset to optimize on light. One night shouldn't mess up their overall schedule, and they're usually distracted by all the fun we have that they're typically too busy to be cranky. Our time together will fly by and you'll be left with memories that will be well worth the trade!
Due to the digital nature of these products, I don’t offer refunds or exchanges at this time as there is no verifiable way of returning the product back to me. All sales are final. But I am more than happy to help with any issues or questions you may have - I am just an email away.
